Hey MOniacs….

The last couple of days have been very trying due to cold weather, but we’re still killing with the shows…it makes me want to take time out and say THANK YOU for coming out to support us on this tour.  I’ve received so many well-wishes, and good vibes and it’s sooo wonderful to know that friends like you make it all worthwhile…Tonight we do our last show on the west coast, then we’re up to Canada. As we journey up…please keep us in your prayers…you know I will keep you updated, and post pics….I love you all….

Hey MOniacs!!!!!

Can you believe it’s been a week of the tour and sooo much has happened!  Since I last wrote…we went and rocked the socks off of LA! And some kinda shows those were….with the fab, Michael Bearden  who played with our Boz band in 2008 and left us to MD for Michael Jackson, playing on keys that night, to the amazing David Paich of Toto sitting in on the hits he penned with Boz, it couldn’t have gotten any better.  It was hot and humid in there, but the crowd didn’t mind….they gave up the love and we gave the love back…..then came the birthday show in Anaheim….from the time he hit the stage…they started in on him with the birthday song….and we as a band had it in for him as well…we did our impromptu version of the bday song, along with party favors…he was floored!!!!!! After, this we came on home to the Bay Area….and rocked Saratoga for two shows….though it was quite cool up on the hill at Montalvo, the fans didn’t disappoint, and we came to give a show….it was good to see many familiar faces, as well as new ones….tonight, we’re still up in the Bay, with a sold out show in Brooks at Cache Creek….we’ll see what happens…it’s gonna be fun!!!!!!

Hey MOniacs!!!!!

The summer is here, and last night’s show, gave me a glimpse as to what to expect this tour! Las Vegas came ready to have a good time.  I must admit, I was a bit confused as to how we were going to pull it off, due to how and where the stage was positioned, but it was great!  Though we were surrounded by water, the fans came out to see the Boz man do his thing! And it was HOT! Even at 9 and 10pm..the temps were still peaking in the 90′s….but that didn’t stop anyone from having fun….they were partying in the water…and I had on no shoes my self….it was the ultimate beach party!!!!! Lot’s of MOniacs came out last night, and made me feel really special….I think I made have gained some new ones…..well, tonight is Agoura Hills/LA show and from what I hear, it’s gonna be something else….I’ll tune u in….ciao!

So, I’ve officially started the summer tour with Boz Scaggs, and so far our first 2 shows have been wonderful…Starting with the people of Indio….what a way to kick things off!!!! They came ready to party, and party they did….never mind the temperature, because it kept rising….we showcased our new show full of songs we haven’t done it quite some time…AND songs we haven’t done at all…..the crowd reception was very inviting, which set us up to night two…SAN DIEGO….now, if you’ve never been to Humphrey’s, it’s one of those venues with the perfect back drop for a perfect evening….and it was…the crowd was hyped and couldn’t contain themselves, before we even hit the stage….Boz, did his thing…and so did I….performing my new song…was an amazing feeling….I must say, as this song grows on me…it will only get better…..as of now, I’ve just got to my room here in Sparks, Nevada, and I’m looking forward to a fab Friday night….

I’m sure we’re all Temptations fans….and if so, you’ve definitely heard my uncle, Mr. Ali “Ollie” Woodson sing.  Uncle Ali, became the next voice for the Tempts, following behind David Ruffin, and Dennis Edwards…….This man’s voice was the blueprint of pure soul….his presence was so profound…and his singing….beyond us!!!!! I thank God for giving us the opportunity to know one of his “best” singers….Uncle Ali, I will miss you tremendously, and will forever, have you in my heart….you gave me…”Ladysoul”…and I say thank you….love always,

The summer Boz Scaggs tour is getting under-way, and I’m really excited about this new unit of band members….Expect some classic Boz with some current MsMo! It’s gonna be quite a show…a lot of new music favs and Mo moments….MOniacs…I’m looking forward to a great summer! Aren’t you???

Hey MOniacs….

As by now I’m sure you’ve heard of the passing of the imcomparable, Ms. Lena Horne.  This woman is the reason why many of us are able to freely do what we do as artists.  Ms. Horne, broke down many barriers, and did it with much style, grace and class, the very things that many have seem to have forgotten.  My first sight of Ms. Horne came when I, a four year old child, sat and watched the “Wiz” with my mother.  The music and the imagery in that movie had me hypnotized.  I couldn’t help but want to be in that movie, and eventually, I was able to sing the songs of Dorothy via Ms. Diana Ross, later on in my teen years, by singing “Home” which won me my pagentry title of Miss TEEN TALENT California 1990.  But, it was the song, “If You Believe”, that seemed to settle within my soul, and stay with me through out my years.  This was the song that Ms. Horne sung in the movie. From the moment she starts…you can’t help but feel the strength and love that only a mother can give her child, and though it was a movie, then and still now, I cry when I watch that scene.  With the last words say, “If you believe in yourself, like I believe in YOU”……and I take those words with me everyday….THANK YOU MS. LENA HORNE, without knowing you personally, emotionally, you instilled a wonderful gift of hope, and self-love….thank you…..may she REST IN POWER….
